Labyrinth Bits Seems like an interesting process. Doing 3d renders is so weird: the final result is still a 2d image but you're essentially doing it by proxy, so getting things to look appealing can be really hard. It's a good attempt at a likeness considering all the technical challenges.

DEFINITELY! Like, a lot of the things that are tough in 3d are easy in 2d, and vice versa. For instance, perspective isn't thought about at ALL in 3d except adjusting the model's placement, and looping tiled patterns are super easy as you can fine tune its shape and size by just adjusting some numbers, but getting the contours of a face and setting up lighting has at least twice as much work involved because of the extra dimension. Not to mention resolution bogging everything down when it comes time to render.
